Product Performance:
Asphalt has the characteristics of heat flow and cold brittleness, which affect its performance, and it must be modified to meet different usage requirements. SBR (styrene-butadiene rubber) is the world's largest-produced synthetic rubber, and because SBR rubber has good compatibility with asphalt, it is also cheap, making it one of the recognized environmentally friendly and high-quality asphalt modifiers.
Our company has developed a special SBR white ultrafine powder butadiene rubber for self-adhesive polymer-modified asphalt waterproofing membranes. The powder rubber is made from high-performance SBR rubber as raw material and is dried to produce it. The product has good compatibility with asphalt and can quickly dissolve in asphalt at a temperature of 160-170°C, with low energy consumption. In the matrix asphalt, the powder rubber and asphalt mix, and the styrene block in the SBR rubber is dissolved and suppressed in the asphalt's rod-shaped structure, while the butadiene wraps around the structure. Therefore, a mutually interwoven network structure of rubber molecules is formed, making asphalt and SBR rubber a compatible system. Our company's ultrafine powder SBR rubber has important practical significance when applied in self-adhesive modified asphalt waterproofing membranes. It can change the low-temperature rheological properties of asphalt, making the modified asphalt waterproofing membrane have low-temperature flexibility and high elongation, improving tensile strength and tear resistance, and having strong adaptability to deformable substrates. It is also resistant to corrosion, puncture, abrasion, self-healing, and has good resistance to ultraviolet aging, long service life, etc. Compared with SBS, SBR not only has lower price and cost savings, but also better low-temperature performance, so it can partially replace SBS to improve the low-temperature flexibility and elongation of waterproofing membranes.
